During the first free practice session (FP1) for the 2025 Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park Circuit, Oliver Bearman, driving for Haas F1 Team, suffered a heavy crash that brought out a red flag.
The incident happened when Bearman took too much kerb and ran wide exiting the high-speed Turns 9/10 chicane, his car then snapping on re-entry and slamming into the barrier.
The damage was significant, affecting the right side of the car and causing the team to spend the remainder of Friday repairing it; Bearman was unable to participate further that day.Bearman called his mistake “small” but acknowledged it cost him valuable track time and disrupted his debut full-season weekend.
