During the third practice session (FP3) for the 2026 Australian Grand Prix, Kimi Antonelli suffered a heavy crash at the Albert Park circuit. While on a fast lap, he ran slightly over the curb in the second corner, lost control of the Mercedes car and hit the barriers at high speed.
The car was heavily damaged and debris was scattered across the track, which forced race control to stop the session with a red flag. Antonelli was able to exit the car on his own and confirmed over the radio that he was okay.
