An amazing act of self-sabotage by McLaren means the 2025 F1 title fight will go down to the final race after all, with Red Bull's Max Verstappen somehow STILL in contention to win it.
McLaren appeared to hold all the cards at the Qatar Grand Prix: 1-2 on the grid, after polesitter Oscar Piastri won the sprint, and Verstappen in an ill-handling car that improved significantly through the weekend but still wasn't a factor in the grand prix qualifying pole fight.
And even with the excellent job Red Bull did to transform Verstappen's car into something he could work with, and the stunning job Verstappen did in winning the grand prix itself, McLaren still had enough in hand to make sure one of its drivers left Qatar with the winner's trophy.
